OVER $1300 RAISED TO BENEFIT ST JUDE CHILDREN’S RESEARCH HOSPITAL
September 15, 2008
Twenty-one children participated this past Saturday, April 19th, in Buena Vista’s first
Trike-A-Thon to benefit St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. This event helped
raise over $1,300 to help kids at St. Jude who have childhood cancer and other
catastrophic diseases. Children from Enderly Heights Elementary and Head Start,
Shenandoah Pre-School, and St. John’s United Methodist Pre-school took part in the
event riding their tricycles, big wheels, scooters, and bikes. This is a very special
project because it helps the children at St. Jude’s Hospital and teaches the
participating children the value of helping others. We are extremely proud of the kids
that took part in the event! said Lisa Fellows the coordinator of the Trike-A-Thon.
St. Jude’s is a world leader in the fight against many terrible diseases, and they have
made great progress because of the help of many people who participate in and
donate to events like Trike-A-Thon.
Lisa Fellows would like to say a special ‘Thank You’ to the community sponsors of the
Trike-A-Thon: ERA Premier Partners, Wal-Mart, Buena Vista Food Lion, Kroger, and
Arcet. Your support of this event was very important and appreciated!
